A topic that causes great debate is smoking. As pot you either love or hate it. As you know, the British government introduced a new policy earlier this year on smoking in public places, i. e. you can not. So what effect this had on the cruise industry? Like most things in life, it varies. On some cruise lines smoking is permitted in cabins / booths, in others it is not. To help, here is our comprehensive guide to current smoking policy on cruise lines. Azamara Other words, you get your fix on board Azamara ships in the rear part of the Looking Glass Lounge on the side of the port and starboard at the front of the pool. Otherwise, do not smoke anywhere else. Carnival Smokers can rejoice in the fact that smoking is allowed on one side of the ship in bars, lounges and open decks and in the cabins (including balconies). But remember, restaurants, theaters and indoor pool at the back (on ships that serve food there) are non-smokers. Celebrity Cruises While you will not be able to light your booth in January 2008, will be allowed to smoke on the terrace / balcony, if your car has one. As public spaces, smoking is prohibited in lobbies, corridors, restaurants and entertainment venues and a bar / lounge per ship will be non-smokers. You will not be banned out quite well because there are smoking areas in many rooms of the ship. If the weather is good, head right on the outside deck for views and a quick solution. A word of caution, if you smoke, you do not need, cleaning charges will be added to your account. Costa Cruises Costa Cruises may once have had the reputation of being very smoky, but now the main restaurants and a theater are smoke free. There are designated smoking areas in bars and lounges, and more for smokers is that some cabins are designated for you. If you like feeling the wind in your hair, you can also shed light on the open deck. Crystal Cigarette smokers will be pleased to know that now you can smoke in the cabins and corridors and in designated areas in most bars and lounges. Note however that the Bistro, inside the Lido Café, the Crystal Dining Room, Prego, Jade Garden, Silk Road, restaurants Sushi Bar and Lounge Galaxy are completely non-smoking. If you smoke a pipe or cigars, however, you are limited to the Connoisseur Club, and on deck “open”, except all areas of Lido Deck (deck 11 on Crystal Symphony, and the deck 12 on Crystal Serenity ). Cunard Pay close attention and carefully read the policy on smoking varies from ship to ship! First the easy bit – smoking is permitted in cabins aboard three ships (Queen Mary 2, QE2 and Queen Victoria’s). You can start taking notes now! All restaurants on Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria are non-smokers, while there are sections on smoking in all restaurants, except the Princess Grill on the QE2. smoking areas, areas also starboard side of the public bars and lounges (if possible) on the QE2 and Queen Mary 2 are designated. The Queen Victoria are designated smoking areas in Churchill’s Cigar Lounge and Casino Empire, while smoking outside is permitted only on the starboard side of deck 3, as well as forward and backward areas 10 bridge. As for pipes and cigars can be smoked, each evening in the Churchill’s Cigar Lounge aboard the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, and the Chart Room, Golden Lion and designated areas of the Crystal Bar aboard QE2 . I hope you have all that – I could test you later! Disney You may not be able to smoke inside the cabin itself, but you can pop on the veranda of your cabin to deliver. Inside, feel free to light up in the sessions (Disney Magic ®), the Cadillac Lounge (Disney Wonder ®), and the space bar in the hijacking of two ships. If you like a little sea air, you can smoke on open decks except near the Mickey pool. Fred. Olsen You need to take notes again that the smoking policy on board Fred. Olsen Cruise vary slightly from ship to ship. You can smoke in the cabin (even if the company does ask passengers to refrain from doing so where possible) on board all vessels outside the Boudicca, which has cabins non-smoking, and Black Watch, where you can smoke in the cabs outside the suites on Deck 9 forward. Like most other ships, all restaurants are non-smokers, so make sure your position before dinner in the bars / lounges below: Braemar – Skylark Lounge Black Watch – Observatory (port) Lido Lounge (port) and the Pipers Bar Boudicca – Observatory (starboard) Lido Lounge (starboard) and the House Iceni Black Prince – Lido Lounge (port) Fortune favors cigarettes I’m afraid, if you must leave the cigars and pipes at home because they are not allowed on board. Holland America Line You need a smoke in one designated smoking areas (available in most rooms), before dinner or a show that all the restaurants and exhibition rooms are non-smokers. There is no “non-smoking” cabin, but non-smokers are assured that the cabins are thoroughly cleaned after each cruise for your comfort. Hurtigruten Easy to remember – you can smoke outside on the deck to pray for good weather! MSC No smoking in cabins or on balconies, please, but smokers join colleagues in the cigar lounge, casino and lounge dedicated to the interior. If you enjoy watching the world go by, you can smoke outside on one side of the terrace. Norwegian Cruise Line Cigarette smokers have a choice to smoke in staterooms, balconies, casino or Cigar Bar (if available). Or if you prefer pipes or cigars, you can head to the cigar bar or designated smoking lounge. You can also smoke cigarettes, pipes and cigars outside on open decks as long as it’s not about food sites on the sports deck or jogging areas, swimming areas for children and other areas designated non-smoking. Better control the size of the bridge is open! Ocean Village Being a British company, it surprised me a bit – smoking is permitted in the cabins (including cabin balconies). Elsewhere, you can light on some areas of open deck, in the casino, some nights, and in areas reserved for smoking one or two public rooms. Oceania Cigarette smokers can choose the angle of the starboard bow pool deck or aft, port corner of Horizons, cigar and pipe smoking is permitted on any corner of the starboard bow of the terrace pool. Everywhere else is off limits and be warned – Any person who smokes where they should not be discharged at port of call and may also be subject to additional charges to cover costs associated with damage and cleaning furniture, verandas and surrounding deck and accommodation areas. P & O Another surprise – you can turn in the cabins (including cabin balconies). Some areas of the decks and designated areas of one or two public rooms are also available for smokers. All other areas are non-smokers. Peter Deilmann Another easy to remember – from January 2008, smoking is only allowed on open decks of all Peter Deilmann vessels. Begin to pray for good weather again. Princess Princess is another cruise line where you can now smoke in the cabin at your pleasure or displeasure. As public spaces, smoking is prohibited in dining rooms, other areas of the restoration theater or theaters. All other public spaces are smoking and non-smokers. Generally, cigar or pipe is limited to outside areas designated for the vessel’s stern, but there are areas reserved for smokers of cigars inside too. For example, Coral and Island Princess feature Churchill’s Cigar Lounge and spirits, while Diamond and Sapphire Princess feature Churchill’s Cigar and Sports Bar. Regent Seven Seas Cruises Notebooks at the ready please! From December 21, 2007 on Voyager, Mariner and Navigator, and on December 29, 2007 Paul Gauguin, smoking is prohibited in all suites, cabins and balconies. All dining rooms are closed non-smokers, but you can have a smoke in designated areas outside Pool Grills. Other than the areas of open deck, here are the only public rooms or areas where smoking is now permitted: Seven Seas Voyager: Connoisseur Club, Casino, Voyager Lounge (designated area), Horizon Lounge (outside area only), pool bar Seven Seas Mariner: Connoisseur Club, Casino, Horizon Lounge (outside area only), Stars Nightclub (designated area), Pool Bar Seven Seas Navigator: Connoisseur Club, Casino, Stars Lounge (designated area), Galileo (region outside only), pool bar Paul Gauguin: La Palette (outside area only), Le Grill (designated area), Pool Bar Explorer II: Smoking Lounge on Bridge Deck Pipes and cigars are permitted in the Connoisseur Club aboard Voyager, Mariner and Navigator, with cigar smokers have the added advantage of being able to deliver within the designated area of the Pool Bar aboard four ships. Like some other cruise lines, Regent Seven Seas is taking a firm stand against the passengers who do not follow the rules – they will be asked to leave the ship at their expense, without refund or credit for the unused portion their cruise. You have been warned! Royal Caribbean In January 2008, you can not smoke in the cabin, but if you have a balcony or a veranda, you can light up there. Ignore this at your peril cleaning fee of $ 250 will be added to the accounts of all guests who smoke or allow smoking in their cabins non-smoking. On the positive side, depending on your point of view, there are smoking areas in many lounges and outdoor terraces appointed. This policy is all Royal Caribbean ships, in January 2008, with the exception of the legend, Rhapsody and Splendour of the Seas, which will be adopted this policy around April 2008. Seabourn Did not put a lot of cigarette smokers to choose as a restaurant, Veranda Cafe, Restaurant “2″ (interior and exterior), the main lounge Lounge (during shows and conferences) to starboard, in the observation lounge and club, and elevators ship are out of bounds to you. However, there is no warning not to smoke in the cabin. As for pipe smokers and cigar, sorry to tell you that you are limited to one area of the Sky Bar after dinner only. Silversea Silversea is a cruise line a little less restrictive than smoking is allowed in the cabin and you can smoke cigarettes in designated areas of the bar, outside the Cafe Terrace, swimming pool, Panorama Lounge, Bar and Casino cellar (Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper). Cigars and pipe tobacco is permitted in designated areas outside at the Terrace Cafe, The Champagne Room (Silver Cloud and Silver Wind) and in the basement (Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper). All other public places, such as Champagne, show lounge and the library are non-smokers. Swan Hellenic Short and sweet (depending on your perspective) – you can not smoke in the smoking room “designated” or designated areas on open decks. Better check what the weather will be like the days of the year chosen at time of booking. Thomson You can smoke in your cabin, but Thomson (and non-smokers) would rather you did not. The main restaurant and venue are non-smokers when all the bars are divided into sections for smokers and non-smokers. Transocean Like many other cruise lines, smoking is prohibited in the cabins or restaurants, but there are smoking areas in ships, if all is not lost. Travelscope Smoking is prohibited in staterooms or elsewhere within outside the nightclub and at designated tables in the Sky Bar where you can have a cigarette. Meanwhile, outside on the open deck, cigarette, pipe and cigar smokers may reach even during times smoking deck buffet is not allowed on deck 7 aft around the pool or buffet. So there you have it – a complete guide to the place where you can and can not smoke on cruises in the United Kingdom ex. However, the above policies are subject to revision to comply with health legislation in the United Kingdom with the intention (when fully implemented) is that the smoke from the provisions of the Act without health 2006 will apply to all cruise ships when they are arriving or departing from a port in the United Kingdom and within the territorial waters of the United Kingdom. We will keep you informed.
